We are seeking a Structural Geologist Graduate with experience or strong interest in rock mechanics to join our growing team. This role bridges detailed structural geology interpretation with geotechnical engineering applications, supporting mining, power and infrastructure projects, contributing to field and office-based studies, and integrating structural observations with geotechnical assessments and stability analyses.

A Day in the Life:
  • Conduct structural mapping of rock outcrops in person and from photogrammetry scans
  • Perform structural logging of drill core.
  • Characterize faults, fractures, veins, and joint sets, and evaluate their influence on ground stability.
  • Support rock mass characterization, geotechnical data interpretation and preparation of engineering geology models.
  • Collaborate with engineers on stability assessments, and geomechanical models.
  • Use software tools (e.g., Dips, Leapfrog, Rocscience suite) to integrate geological structures with engineering analyses.
  • Contribute to the development of 3D geological and structural models for project studies.
  • Prepare figures, cross-sections, stereonets, and technical reports for internal and client use.
  • Participate in fieldwork, often in remote environments.

What you'll bring to WSP...
  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Geology, Structural Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in structural geology, with the ability to apply concepts to engineering challenges.
  • Knowledge of rock mechanics principles and an interest in developing geomechanical expertise.
  • Geological field mapping experience.
  • Proficiency in Leapfrog Geo TM or similar 3D modelling software.
  • Familiarity with stereonet analysis and structural data interpretation.
  • Willingness to travel and work in the field as required.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

  • Be receptive to feedback and collaboration with peers
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Working toward or eligible for Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status.
