In your role as a collection manager, you will support and lead the National Collections Team to ensure timely follow-ups and obtain payments on overdue invoices. Demonstrate strong familiarity with the Collections Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure the Collections team completes all collection activities as per the standard process.

The expected base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $111,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In your role as a collection manager, you will support and lead the National Collections Team to ensure timely follow-ups and obtain payments on overdue invoices. Demonstrate strong familiarity with the Collections Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure the Collections team completes all collection activities as per the standard process.
What you will do
- Provide daily leadership to collections specialists
- Complete regular review of outstanding invoices to ensure appropriate communications, activities are being applied based on the ageing of invoices and National SOPs
- Maintain Do Not Contact list (DNC) and review quarterly
- Develop strategies to improve cash flow and reduce bad debt
- Assist in the management of high-risk or escalated accounts
- Analyze collection metrics and trends (ageing reports, recovery rates)
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to ensure performance targets are achieved
- Work closely and collaboratively with internal support teams on collection matters
- Maintain relationships with key clients to ensure smooth resolution of disputes
- Measure the results of the Collections Specialists against performance targets
- Onboard new team members to ensure successful integration and deep understanding of relevant KPMG polices, processes and technologies
- Facilitate the performance development cycle for Collection Specialists: This includes annual goal setting, interim and year end reviews, year-end calibration and ongoing performance feedback
- Identify training and development needs of the Collections team and work collaboratively with the Senior Manager to address requirements and deliver programs
- College diploma: finance/accounting diploma preferred
- 3 years of collections experience
- Demonstrated people leadership skills
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Able to always deal with people sensitively and professionally
- Strong negotiation skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and within a virtual or in person team environment
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Office particularly Word & Excel
- The successful candidate will be require fluent written and verbal English as this individual will support a national team and stakeholders across Canada
