Shape Something Different - You're not just looking for another job - you want to shape something. This is your chance to make an impact as a Junior Rock Mechanics Consultant on our Mining team, working on projects that safeguard communities and advance sustainable mining practices.
Your Impact
- Conduct geotechnical rock core logging and mapping at operating and abandoned mine sites.
- Supervise drilling and earthworks/construction subcontractors during investigations.
- Oversee rehabilitation activities such as backfilling, concrete cap construction, fence installation, and bat gate installation.
- Apply problem-solving and decision-making skills in the field to progress project scope, maintaining regular communication with senior project teams.
- Utilize survey equipment including cavity scanners, sonar, drones, and surface surveying tools.
- Compile and review data using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and other software.
- Perform data analysis for rock mass characterization, stability assessments, and rehabilitation option development.
- Assist in report and proposal preparation and field planning, including health and safety plans and contractor coordination.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering (geotechnical/rock mechanics specialization) or Geological Engineering, or technician/technologist in Mining or similar.
- Eligibility for registration with a professional organization (PEO or similar) upon obtaining necessary experience.
- Experience working outdoors, including remote locations in Northern Ontario and Québec.
- Ontario driver's license; off-road driving experience is an asset.
- Ability to safely lift equipment (minimum 15 kg) and willingness to travel for projects.
- Currently living in or willing to relocate to Sudbury or Timmins.

Compensation
BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $73,400 - $97,200
MB & ON: $67,000 - $92,200
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $66,300 - $88,000
