Compensation
BC, AB, SK, NWT & NT: $66,700 - $88,400
MB & ON: $60,900 - $83,800
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $60,300 - $80,000

Join our Rail and Transit team as a Construction Inspector in Toronto. In this role, you'll be on-site, ensuring quality and compliance for transformative transit projects that shape the future of urban mobility. Your Impact
- Oversee and conduct inspections on TTC construction projects, including station upgrades, accessibility improvements, second exits, fire ventilation systems, track work, subway yards, and bus facilities.
- Verify that work materials and methods meet contract requirements and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for active construction contracts.
- Issue and follow up on contract deficiency reports, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Act as a liaison between contractors, TTC staff, municipalities, and utility companies to maintain smooth project execution.
- Monitor compliance with safety, security, and operational standards, addressing infractions promptly.
- Support contract administration and quality assurance throughout the construction lifecycle.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Completion of a University or College program in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience inspecting large, multi-discipline or heavy construction capital projects.
- Familiarity with bus garage and car house operations, plus experience in civil/structural, mechanical, or electrical disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret contract drawings and specifications, monitor progress against baseline schedules, and ensure compliance.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and accessibility requirements under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Proficiency in reading drawings and schematics; experience with transit infrastructure projects (TTC, Metrolinx) preferred.
