Job Description
A career in our Tax and Rewards practice, within our Indirect Tax group PwC Private, will provide the opportunity to help private and public companies with a range of business advisory needs such as audit, tax compliance, and planning to help improve their operational efficiency and to free up time that can be spent focusing on business strategy. You'll have the opportunity to experience the entire business life cycle of a private company from inception to growth, maturity and transition. Our team helps our clients develop, design and implement management incentive plans to achieve their business and commercial objectives.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Manager , you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop new skills outside of your comfort zone.
• Act to resolve issues which prevent the team from working effectively.
• Coach others, recognise their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development.
• Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
• Use multiple sources of i nformation, including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
• Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectations.
• Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
• Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients.
• Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.
• Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points.
• Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and communicating with clients and tax team members across PwC;
• Canadian and U.S. and cross-border experience with the taxation of incentive and deferred compensation, including in the context of a M&A transaction, is an an asset
• Conduct and manage Canadian and U.S. tax research and due diligence research on equity and incentive compensation matters, including:Stock options and other equity plans,deferred cash plans, carried and profits interests and other incentive incentives and retirement benefits.
• Conduct reviews of client equity and incentive plan compensation and draft memoranda on employee and employer/corporate tax consequences, including in the context of M&A transactions; and
• Assist clients with cross-border tax implications related to equity and incentive compensation plans.
• Communicate professionally with all clients, the Canada Revenue Agency, Revenue Quebec and other tax authorities.
• When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset.
