WSP is currently seeking a Planner to join our Planning team, located at our Ottawa Office.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates
  • Working with a team on a range of land development projects including residential, retail/commercial, industrial, institutional and utility uses;
  • Preparing reports including Due Diligence, Highest and Best Use, Development Feasibility, and Policy Reviews;
  • Liaising with municipal and agency staff to expedite planning approvals;
  • Preparing municipal planning documents such as official plans, zoning by-laws, and secondary plans;
  • Research and presentation of planning analyses
  • Organization and participation in stakeholder meetings;
  • Support during public consultation processes; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification for Internal Candidate
  • University degree in Planning;
  • A minimum of 0-3 years of progressive experience in a consulting or municipal environment;
  • Eligibility in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners;
  • Demonstrated understanding of planning legislation and approvals processes in the Province of Ontario;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, query, analyze, and effectively communicate information;
  • An interest in public consultation;
  • High motivation and are organized, flexible, and an enthusiastic team player committed to upholding our reputation for delivering high quality service;
  • Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills; and
  • A valid Ontario driver's license.
