Overview

As the National Functional Change Management Leader, reporting into the Executive Director of Transformation Office, you will oversee change initiatives across the firm and support the national objectives of the Functional Canadian Managing Partners by applying professional change management methods and global frameworks.

The role involves collaborating with the National Change Management Coordinator & senior leaders to define and share the change vision, managing enterprise-wide projects, driving consistency across all regions (50+ offices), and developing strategies for technology transformation, structural reorganization, and cultural adaptation. In addition, key responsibilities include guiding behavioral change, supporting regional alignment, and managing a team of 3-4 direct reports.

Please note, this position is hybrid based out of Montreal, Calgary, Toronto or Vancouver and involves 30% travel within to fulfil business requirements.

This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders nationally in our English speaking provinces while at KPMG.

What you will do
Strategic Change Leadership & Advisory
  • Partner with senior leaders (CMPs, CTOs, MDs) to shape and communicate the change vision
  • Lead enterprise-wide change initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Advise on change readiness, impact, and adoption across all regions and business units
  • Builds relationships with senior leaders and partners to facilitate implementation of strategic initiatives and change employee behaviors to adopt firmwide change programs
  • Coordinate with Regional Culture & Change Leaders for local adoption of firmwide strategic change initiatives
Transformation & Technology Enablement
  • Act as the trusted advisory to the CMPs and FMP on change readiness, impact and adoption
  • Lead organizational restructuring and technology change, ensuring seamless integration of firmwide initiatives
  • Serve as a change management expert, connecting national and regional teams
  • Develop and implement functional change roadmaps aligned with transformation strategies
  • Identify people risks and tailor change management plans to business needs
  • Guide cross-functional teams and adapt frameworks to evolving priorities
  • Serve as the conduit between firmwide transformation teams (including Functional Change Leaders) and Regional Leaders to ensure two-way communication and adoption
  • Collaborate with CTOs and ITS and digital teams to support the roll out of new systems, AI tools, global and local platforms
  • Drive user adoption and minimize disruption through effective change management enablement strategies by overseeing the execution of plans by the RC&Cs
Cultural & Behavioral Change Management
  • D evelop and implement behavioral change strategies to support desired cultural outcomes
  • Use data-driven insights and interventions to shift mindsets and behaviors
  • Embed change into leadership development, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Develops and executes communication strategies, facilitates workshops, and ensures transparent, two-way dialogue with all impacted groups
Capability Building & Continuous Improvement
  • Build internal change capability through training, coaching, and developing change agents
  • Establish and maintain a functional change network across regions
  • Define KPIs, monitor progress, and refine strategies for sustained change and ROI
What you bring to the role
  • Post-Secondary Education in HR, Business, Change Management, or related field
  • 10+ years' experience in change management, transformation, or HR leadership roles, including leading large-scale, cross-functional change programs
  • Experience working in a matrixed partnership environment
  • Proven track record in organizational design, technology adoption & transformation, and cultural change
  • Experience in matrixed organizations with proven stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead high performing teams through strategic thinking with pragmatic execution
  • Collaborative working style, with excellent track record of building trust at all levels of management, including with senior and executive leadership
  • Passion for people, culture, and change
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills
  • Resilient and adaptable in the face of ambiguity and resistance
  • National leadership role experience is an asset
  • Change management certifications (PROSCI, Kotter, ADKAR or equivalent) are considered an asset
KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $115,500 to $193,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies , and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
