The Opportunity - Build the Future With Us
Based in Ottawa, this PMIS Lead Professional role places you at the intersection of global innovation and regional project excellence and at the heart of major, multi-disciplinary project delivery. You will join a world-class team, collaborating directly with WSP's Global Major Projects Software (MPS) and PMIS teams to drive digital transformation across Canada. You'll help shape project success across some of the region's most complex infrastructure, transportation, environmental and community-building initiatives. Your leadership in digital project delivery, systems integration, and process optimization will help teams work smarter, deliver with precision, and create lasting value for our clients and communities.
Your Impact
Global Strategy & Canadian Initiatives
  • Global Liaison: Act as the primary Canadian point of contact for the Global MPS/PMIS team, ensuring regional requirements are integrated into WSP's global digital roadmap.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Lead the national strategy for PMIS adoption, identifying high-growth opportunities across all business sectors across Canada.
  • Governance & Standards: Ensure all Canadian deployments comply with ISO 19650 and WSP's internal digital delivery standards, maintaining consistency from bid phase to project closeout.

Systems Configuration & Deployment
  • Full-Scale Implementation: Lead the end-to-end configuration and deployment of enterprise platforms (e.g., InEight, Oracle Primavera Unifier, Procore, PMWeb) for major capital projects.
  • Workflow Engineering: Design and automate complex workflows for Cost Management, Earned Value Management (EVM), Change Management, and Risk Tracking.
  • Systems Integration: Collaborate with IT and Finance to bridge PMIS platforms with ERP systems (Oracle/SAP).

Data Leadership & Decision Support
  • Analytics & Insights: Architect sophisticated Power BI dashboards that provide real-time visibility into project health, compliance, and financial performance.
  • Quality Governance: Champion data integrity and quality management practices, ensuring project leadership has the transparent data needed for proactive decision-making.

Leadership & People Skills
  • Change Advocacy: Guide project teams through the cultural shift of Digital Transformation, serving as a mentor and coach to Project Managers and Project Control Leads when it comes to digital transformation.
  • Training & Capacity Building: Develop and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs and technical workshops to ensure consistent PMIS proficiency across the Canadian business.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary leads to translate operational pain points into technical system solutions
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • System Expertise: Deep proficiency in one or more enterprise PMIS platforms: InEight (Control, Estimate, Change, Contract), Oracle Primavera Unifier, Procore, EcoSys or PMWeb or equivalent enterprise project systems.
  • Data Science for Construction: Advanced skills in Power BI, SQL, or Tableau, with an understanding of how to leverage APIs for system-to-system data flow.
  • Project Controls Depth: A strong understanding of Project Controls-including WBS structures, cost forecasting, schedule integration, document management and risk management.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to look beyond a single project to see how system enhancements can benefit the wider Canadian enterprise.
  • Communication Excellence: Skilled at \"translating\" between technical developers and non-technical project stakeholders, ensuring clear expectations and buy-in.
  • Agile Problem Solving: A proven track record of troubleshooting system bottlenecks in high-pressure, complex project environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of progressive experience in PMIS implementation or Project Controls on major infrastructure or capital projects.
  • Certifications: PMP, CCP, or PMI-SP designations are highly preferred. Specific software certifications (e.g., Oracle Unifier Certified Specialist) are a significant asset.
