Intermediate Structural Engineer
Your impact starts here. Based in Toronto this opportunity sits within WSP's Buildings Structural Engineering Group, supporting projects from concept through construction across a wide range of sectors. Working alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll help deliver innovative, elegant, and practical structural solutions while continuing to grow your technical depth and project experience.
This role offers exposure to complex design challenges, site activities, and opportunities to expand into client-facing and project coordination responsibilities.
Your Impact
- Perform structural engineering calculations and assessments for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry systems
- Apply advanced analysis tools and finite element modelling grounded in sound engineering principles
- Support the design and delivery of projects from proposal stage through construction
- Oversee preparation of drawings, details, specifications, and ensure quality outcomes
- Prepare technical reports, assessments, and design documentation
- Conduct field reviews, inspections, and condition assessments
- Contribute to proposal development and project pursuits
- Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing within the group
- Approach all work with curiosity, innovation, and a client-focused mindset
- Support diversity, inclusion, and sustainability through thoughtful design solutions
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with PEO, or eligibility in progress
- Approximately 4-8 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment
- Experience designing for a variety of project types such as institutional, healthcare, science, transportation, industrial, commercial, or residential buildings
- Working knowledge of OBC and NBC requirements
- Experience with structural analysis and design software
- Strong technical writing, organization, and collaboration skills
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally within Canada

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $85,100 - $112,800
MB & ON: $77,700 - $107,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $76,900 - $102,100
