The Opportunity

Shape the World Around You - This is your opportunity to be part of one of the most prestigious building rehabilitation projects in the world: the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, the heart of Canada's Parliamentary Precinct and one of the country's most significant heritage restorations.

As an Intermediate Contract Administrator (Structural), you'll help oversee the structural components of the restored Centre Block, Peace Tower, and the development of a multi-level, below-grade Visitor Welcome Centre. This role places you at the intersection of heritage preservation, engineering excellence, and national significance.

Your Impact
  • Review construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents and document findings in Field Observation Reports (FORs).
  • Coordinate on-site structural work with the architectural Contract Administrator and other discipline leads to maintain alignment across project scopes.
  • Manage assigned submittals to ensure timely review and return to the construction manager and contractor teams.
  • Monitor independent testing and inspection agencies for compliance with project requirements and structural standards.
  • Respond to RFIs with clarity and precision, ensuring alignment with structural intent and contract documents.
  • Prepare Site Instructions and Construction Bulletins that guide construction changes and field decisions.
  • Review structural-related claims and support dispute resolution processes.
  • Participate in constructability reviews to identify risks, opportunities, and improvements before and during construction.
  • Liaise regularly with PSPC, the Construction Manager, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential project risks and escalate appropriately to the Senior Contract Administrator.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a structural Contract Administrator on large building projects; heritage or fast-tracked project experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and CSA standards for steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Bluebeam; Revit experience is an asset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; French language skills are considered an asset.
  • Eligibility for Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Clearance, requiring five full years of verifiable Canadian residency.

Compensation

Compensation:
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $93,000 - $124,900
  • MB & ON: $84,800 - $118,400
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $84,000 - $113,100
