Integration Consultant, Senior Associate

They utilise advanced analytics techniques to help clients optimise their operations and achieve their strategic goals.We are seeking an experienced Integration Consultant, Senior Associate who will work closely with cross-functional teams - offshore and onshore managers, architects, developers, and business analysts - to deliver robust, scalable integration solutions. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise integrations using Workato as the primary integration platform. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and organizational governance frameworks.

1. Integration Design & Development
• Solution Architecture & Design: Lead end-to-end design of integration solutions using Workato, defining integration patterns, data mapping strategies, and error-handling frameworks.
• Recipe Development & Orchestration: Design, develop, and optimize complex Workato recipes and callable recipes to automate business processes across SaaS, on-premise, and cloud applications.
• API Design & Management: Architect RESTful and SOAP-based API endpoints within Workato; manage API collections, policies, and access profiles.
• Custom Connector Development: Build custom connectors using the Workato SDK (Ruby) for proprietary or niche applications lacking native connector support.
• Data Transformation & Mapping: Implement complex data transformations and business logic using Workato's formula mode, Lookup Tables, and custom Ruby snippets.
• Event-Driven & Real-Time Integrations: Design event-driven flows using triggers, webhooks, and pub/sub mechanisms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with offshore/onshore stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specs, and deliver on time.
• Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Guide junior developers on best practices, conduct code reviews, and elevate overall team capability.

2. Platform & Technical Expertise
• Workato Platform Administration: Serve as the platform SME covering workspace management, environment configuration, connection management, RBAC, and audit logging.
• Recipe Lifecycle Management (RLCM): Govern the full recipe lifecycle - development through deployment - using Workato's RLCM tools, manifests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Workspace & Project Governance: Establish and enforce folder structures, naming conventions, tagging standards, and project organization for maintainability and scalability.
• Error Handling & Monitoring: Design robust error-handling strategies and configure Workato's monitoring dashboards for proactive issue detection and resolution.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure integrations adhere to enterprise security policies including OAuth 2.0, encryption, data masking, and compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks; leverage concurrency, caching, and batch processing to improve efficiency.
• On-Premise Agent (OPA) Management: Configure and manage On-Premise Agents to securely connect to behind-the-firewall systems and legacy applications.
• Platform Upgrades & Innovation: Stay current with Workato updates and new capabilities; evaluate and recommend adoption to continuously improve the integration landscape.

Certifications
• Workato Automation Pro Certifications (Required)
• Workato Automation Pro II / Advanced Certification ( Required )
• Additional certifications in complementary platforms are a plus (e.g., MuleSoft Certified Developer ).

Professional Experience
• 7-8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise application integration, middleware, or iPaaS development, with a minimum of 3-4 years dedicated to the Workato platform .
• Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, production-grade integrations across complex, multi-system enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional, globally distributed teams (offshore/onshore delivery models) within Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
• Experience integrating with major enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Workday, ServiceNow, NetSuite, Jira, Slack, Snowflake, AWS (S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS), Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform .
• Prior experience in a consulting, professional services, or systems integration environment is highly preferred.

Technical Skills
• Workato Expertise: Deep proficiency in Workato recipe building, callable recipes, API platform, Workbot , Lookup Tables, Recipe Lifecycle Management, Workato SDK (Ruby), On-Premise Agents, and workspace administration.
• API & Web Services: Strong command of RESTful API design, SOAP web services, JSON/XML data formats, OAuth 2.0, JWT, API rate limiting, pagination handling, and webhook configuration.
• Data & Databases: Working knowledge of SQL and experience integrating with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Scripting & Development: Proficiency in Ruby (for Workato SDK), with working knowledge of Python, JavaScript , or similar scripting languages for data transformation and automation support.
• Integration Patterns & Middleware Concepts: Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns and middleware concepts (message queues, ESBs, ETL/ELT).
• DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated deployment strategies.
• File Formats & Protocols: Experience working with CSV, JSON, XML, EDI, SFTP, FTP, and flat file integrations.

Soft Skills & Competencies
• Technical Leadership: Ability to lead technical discussions, influence architectural decisions, and mentor junior team members.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language for diverse audiences.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong diagnostic skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting integration failures and performance issues.
• Ownership & Accountability: A proactive, self-driven approach with a strong sense of ownership over deliverables, quality, and outcomes.

Nice to Have
• Experience with other iPaaS platforms (MuleSoft) providing a comparative perspective on integration strategies.
• Familiarity with RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere) and understanding of how RPA complements iPaaS-driven automation.
• Exposure to ITIL frameworks , change management processes, and enterprise governance models.
• Experience working within regulated industries (Financial Services, Healthcare, Life Sciences) with an understanding of compliance requirements.

The salary range for this position is $84,700 - $134,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
