Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Finance and Accounting Managed Services Manager you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Take ownership of projects, ensuring their successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion
• Partner with team leadership to ensure collective ownership of quality, timelines, and deliverables
• Analyse and identify the linkages and interactions between the component parts of an entire system
• Develop skills outside your comfort zone and encourage others to do the same
• Effectively mentor others
• Use the review of work as an opportunity to deepen the expertise of team members
• Address conflicts or issues, engaging in difficult conversations with clients, team members and other stakeholders, escalating where appropriate
• Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards ( e.g. refer to specific PwC guidance), the Firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• Extensive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong track record in financial reporting and/or management accounting
• CPA or equivalent is highly preferred
• Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS) and ability to proactively and independently research guidance
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and/or cloud accounting software is considered an asset
• Proficiency in digital and/or data analysis tools
• Effectively juggle multiple projects and teams under pressure with a proactive approach
• Senior team members are expected, when needed, to dive into the details to ensure complex or challenging engagements are completed on time and with quality
• Demonstrate coachability by actively seeking feedback, embracing growth opportunities, and pursuing continuous development
• Actively mentor and support engagement team members by sharing expertise and feedback, helping them grow and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive environment for their engagements
• Actively coach specific individuals and collaborate around their professional growth
• The ability to clearly present findings and recommendations, both written and verbally, is vital
• P roactively engage with existing clients to understand their evolving needs and identify opportunities for increasing scope or other services
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
• Review variance analysis, account reconciliations, and financial modeling to support decision-making
• Support the sharing of insights with clients on a regular basis
• Drive accountability for the team's execution of a robust financial close process
