As part of the Regulatory and Risk Advisory (RRA) practice, our risk management professionals provide a broad range of risk advisory services to organizations across industries including development and implementation of risk operating models, risk function set-up, process/tech/data enablement and design of specialized risk programs (e.g., regulatory compliance management, market conduct obligation compliance, payments rules compliance and open banking readiness). Our goal is to help our clients increase their overall risk governance and performance and ultimately make better risk informed decisions.

We are looking for a Consultant to join our growing RRA practice in Toronto with a focus on Regulatory Compliance. The successful candidate will work as part of multidisciplinary engagement teams supporting clients with regulatory compliance assessments, transformation initiatives and the design and implementation of compliance frameworks, processes and controls.

What you will do
  • Work with leading financial institutions and regulated organizations to address complex regulatory, risk and compliance challenges
  • Support end-to-end client engagements by conducting research, analysis, assessments and developing client-ready recommendations and deliverables
  • Assist clients in enhancing regulatory compliance programs, governance frameworks, operating models and risk management capabilities
  • Participate in the design and implementation of strategic, regulatory and transformation initiatives that strengthen compliance effectiveness and operational resilience
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders and engagement teams to identify business challenges, facilitate workshops and develop practical, sustainable solutions
  • Analyze regulatory requirements, business processes, risks and controls to identify opportunities for improvement and support informed decision-making
  • Develop executive-ready presentations, reports and implementation roadmaps that communicate complex issues in a clear and actionable manner
  • Support project delivery, stakeholder management and engagement coordination while building trusted relationships with clients and team members
  • Contribute to proposals, thought leadership and practice development initiatives that support the continued growth of the Regulatory & Risk Advisory practice
What you bring to the role
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, professional services or another regulated environment, with exposure to regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit, controls, operations or related areas
  • Strong academic background with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Law, Public Policy or another relevant discipline
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management concepts, including governance, policies and procedures, risk and control frameworks, monitoring and testing, issue management and regulatory reporting
  • Familiarity with the Canadian financial services regulatory environment and regulatory requirements related to areas such as regulatory compliance management, consumer protection, market conduct, payments and/or other financial services activities is considered an asset
  • Experience conducting research and analysis, assessing requirements, documenting processes or controls, and developing clear findings and recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex information and communicate its practical implications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise and professional reports, presentations and other client-ready materials
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, project-based environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $56,500-$84,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
