Job Description

Brainhunter is currently seeking " Valve / Actuator Engineer" to work for our valued Client in Pickering, Ontario. It's a one - year contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
    • Provide technical expertise and engineering support for valve systems used in nuclear plant operations.
    • Review, assess, and recommend valve maintenance, repair, and replacement strategies.
    • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Develop or review engineering documentation, specifications, and test procedures.
    • Collaborate with Client engineering and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
    • Provide technical input during design modifications or equipment upgrades.

Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
    • 5+ years of experience in valve engineering, ideally within the nuclear or power generation industry.
    • In-depth understanding of valve design, operation, and maintenance practices.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, CSA, API).
    • Experience supporting OPG, Bruce Power, or other Canadian nuclear utilities preferred.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.
    • Eligibility to work in Canada.
Work Arrangement
    • Remote, part-time contract (flexible hours depending on project needs).
    • Collaboration via virtual meetings and document review systems.
