Site Description: The Field Support Unit (FSU) will start at the Kingston Branch located at suite 105-1479 John Counter Blvd, Kingston, and will work with operations to facilitate coverage at any site operated by the Kingston Branch (Including Brockville and Cobourg). The FSU must have access to a reliable vehicle during the shift and be able to use it to commute as directed by the CSM, SPM, PRC, and Branch Manager.

Position: Temporary Full Time Field Support Unit - Security Guard

Site: Branch Office,1479 John Counter Blvd, Kingston

Hours: Continental Nights 1800-0600

Pay Rate: $19.00/hr

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

This position requires a personal vehicle with G2 or G and must be able to clean shave as per the N-95 mask fit test.

Job Description:
• Perform assigned shifts across multiple sites, providing proactive and reactive security patrols and responding to fire or emergency incidents
• Deliver strong customer service while assisting individuals under stress or requiring medical support
• Apply Use of Force or restraints when required
• Provide security escorts and motor-vehicle assistance to staff and visitors
• Maintain accurate logs and reports for all activities, calls, and investigations
• Enforce rules, address violations, and remove individuals when necessary
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access and unlawful activity
• Manage access control at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter
• Support enforcement of company policies, reporting suspicious activity and security concerns
• Report incidents, accidents, and breaches promptly to management
• Monitor surveillance systems and ensure equipment is functioning properly
• Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when required
• Additional duties as assigned
Prerequisites:
• Immunization Record (Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• G2 or G-class Ontario Drivers License
• Proof of (minimum) 2 Covid Vaccine doses
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Willing to complete N95 Mask fit clean-shaven requirement
• Must have a reliable vehicle
• Fluent in English (both oral and written)
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
