Site Description: Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is southeastern Ontario's leading complex, acute, and specialty care, research, and teaching hospital. KHSC includes the Hotel Dieu Hospital site, Kingston General Hospital site, the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, and a major research institute. Position: Security Floor Guard Extra Rounds - Full Time - Kingston General Hospital

Site: Kingston General Hospital

Hours: Weekly Rotation, Monday - Friday 08:00-16:00/16:00-00:00

Pay Rate: $22.61/hour

Overtime Method: Ontario ESA After 44 Hours

Job Responsibilities
• Maintain a professional and visible security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct patients, visitors, and staff
• Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
• Work independently and collaboratively
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols
• Respond to emergencies and support code responses
• Document and report incidents; conduct investigations as required
• Perform patient watches and enforce hospital policies/by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
• Assist with monthly safety inspections and other assigned duties
Job Requirements
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum two doses)
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, and TB (Step 1 & 2)

• KHSC Immunization Forms required
• Full MMR-V immunization must be completed prior to hire
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (completed during onboarding)
• Minimum 6 months of security experience (healthcare preferred but not required)
• Full-time availability with a minimum 6-month commitment
• Strong English communication skills; French an asset
• Minimum 6 months customer service experience preferred
• Must provide Stay Safe certifications
•
• Applicants without these may complete Paladin's Stay Safe program prior to onboarding
• Training is unpaid as it is a prerequisite; Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month commitment
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

Valid Ontario Security License
Valid Certification in First Aid, CPR and AED
