About the Team

Purpose of the Role: 

This role will focus on security and systems administration. In addition to monitoring the security posture, this role will provide high quality technical support to staff for all their technological needs and maintaining network, server, and virtual infrastructure including Windows servers, SQL Servers, and Linux servers. 

This role will operate on a hybrid working model and be based in either Vancouver or Toronto.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Implement and manage security tools.  
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis.  
  • Monitor and act on SIEM (Sentinel) and Defender alerts. 
  • Create SIEM analytical rules, playbooks, and automation tasks. 
  • Incident response (Investigate, document and report any information security issues and emerging trends). 
  • Tier 3 support to helpdesk.  
  • Involvement in creating disaster recovery plans.  
  • Manage Cyber security awareness program.  
  • Planning and Infrastructure: ensure servers are up and running and meet requirements. 
  • Figure out equipment needed to meet system requirements.  
  • Administration of physical and virtual servers including preventative maintenance, patch management and system upgrades.
  • Manage and maintain data backup/archiving infrastructure and ensure proper data management techniques are being performed. 
  • Perform daily support, monitoring and administration tasks for the corporate Windows based client devices.   
  • Endpoint security management (Intune) – Remediation, software patching, configurations.  
  • Perform routine upgrades and preventative maintenance for various hardware.  
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience in Microsoft Cloud (Azure, M365) and Security (Defender suite) solutions.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience as a Security and Systems Administrator preferably in a financial planning firm.
  • Completion of a Degree or Diploma Information Systems or equivalent work experience. 
  • A strong understanding of cyber security principles (CIS v8 and NIST). 
  • A strong analytical and mathematical ability.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and get more education as needed.
  • Strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks.

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $78,000-$108,000 dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, we also offer:
