What you can expect to do here:
  • Inspect the Work in accordance with the CAITM/CAIS Manual, including equipment, materials & methods, to ensure that the requirements of the Contract Documents are fulfilled in a safe manner with requisite quality;
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting progress, deficient workmanship, resources and milestones achieved;
  • Monitor, measure and calculate the quantity of work performed to support with contractor payment;
  • Support with quality assurance monitoring and material sampling;
  • Lead, assist and mentor junior level staff, including Junior Inspectors and Students;
  • Liaise between the contractor, client representatives, utility companies and other stakeholders.
  • All of the above you will accomplish working on some of the most interesting and complex construction projects in Ontario.
  • You will get to apply your technical skills in a dynamic environment where your office...the construction site, changes on a day to day basis.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • Experience inspecting a minimum of three (3) MTO construction contracts, with a minimum of five (5) years of MTO inspection experience;
  • Shall have graduated from a Civil Engineering Technology / Technologist College Program, and possess the C.Tech. or CET designation, or from a Civil Engineering University Program;
  • Being certified by OACETT and possessing the Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) designation, or being registered with PEO as either an Engineer-in-Training or a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), would be considered an asset;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills;
  • Proficient at interpreting Contract Documents, specifications, standards and technical drawings;
  • A valid Ontario's driver license with an acceptable driving record.
