In Thunder Bay, you'll lead the Bridges team within our Bridges, Highways & Roads business line, shaping meaningful infrastructure that strengthens communities and supports safe, connected transportation across Northern Ontario. This role leads a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff in delivering complex bridge, highway, and construction administration projects, while driving technical excellence, client stewardship, and people leadership.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $135,200 - $179,100
MB & ON: $123,300 - $169,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $122,100 - $162,200

The Opportunity

In Thunder Bay, you'll lead the Bridges team within our Bridges, Highways & Roads business line, shaping meaningful infrastructure that strengthens communities and supports safe, connected transportation across Northern Ontario. This role leads a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff in delivering complex bridge, highway, and construction administration projects, while driving technical excellence, client stewardship, and people leadership.
Your Impact
- Lead the overall performance of the Bridges department, meeting revenue, profitability, and operational targets.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to advance the expertise and career development of engineering and technical staff.
- Strengthen and grow client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and champion for service excellence.
- Oversee staffing, resource planning, recruitment, development, and performance management for the department.
- Guide project delivery by monitoring financials, schedules, scope, quality, and risk while ensuring consistent use of corporate project management tools, including ETC/EAC tools
- Collaborate with the Senior Discipline Director to shape discipline strategies, budgets, and long-term goals.
- Support business development within the region through relationship-building, pipeline development, and proposal insights.
- Promote inter-office collaboration to balance workloads and enhance project delivery across the discipline.
- Drive productivity, quality, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A university degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in bridge structures.
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure in Ontario.
- 10+ years of bridge engineering and project management experience, including work with MTO or Ontario municipalities.
- 5+ years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring technical teams in an engineering consulting environment.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, teamwork, and relationship-building capabilities.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to excellence in client service and project delivery.
