We are seeking a highly analytical and outcome-driven Manager, Strategy to join the Canadian Commercial Banking Strategy team. In this role, you will help shape the strategic direction of the business by partnering closely with senior leaders to develop strategy, evaluate complex trade-offs, and drive the execution of large-scale, high-impact initiatives.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, sound business judgment, and the ability to translate insight into action across a complex, matrixed organization.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Executive Advisory
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations on key business decisions.
- Lead the development of strategic plans, priorities, and execution roadmaps aligned to commercial banking objectives.
- Build compelling business cases by identifying organizational needs, evaluating strategic options, and assessing financial and operational impacts.
- Support leadership in resource allocation decisions to maximize business outcomes and return on investment.
- Conduct independent, rigorous analysis to diagnose complex strategic issues and develop actionable solutions.
- Perform market, competitive, and industry analysis to identify growth opportunities, risks, and areas for differentiation.
- Monitor business performance, identify emerging challenges, and proactively recommend course corrections.
- Translate complex data into clear, concise narratives for executive audiences.
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business, financial, and risk objectives.
- Apply creativity and structured problem-solving to navigate ambiguity and shifting market dynamics.
- Stay connected to external trends, best practices, and innovations through networking and research, bringing relevant insights back to the organization.
Experience & Domain Knowledge
- 5+ years of relevant experience in strategy, analytics, management consulting, or financial services.
- 2+ years of management consulting experience preferred, ideally with exposure to banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of banking products, client segmentation, and commercial business strategies.
- Post-secondary degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to distill complex quantitative and qualitative analysis into simple, compelling insights.
- Strong executive presence; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business, analytics, finance, and technology teams.
