We are seeking a seasoned Director, Commercial Banking Analytics & Pricing. This role is designed for a commercial-lending expert who combines deep knowledge of credit products and deal economics with advanced analytical skills. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders to drive data-informed decisions across lending strategy, pricing, portfolio performance, and client profitability.

This role sits at the intersection of commercial banking, credit, pricing strategy, and advanced analytics, translating complex data into practical insights that shape lending decisions and competitive positioning.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Lending Analytics & Strategic Advisory
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior commercial banking leaders, providing insights on lending strategy, pricing, portfolio performance, and client profitability
  • Act as a subject matter expert on commercial lending products, including term loans, revolving credit facilities, guarantees, and structured solutions
  • Apply strong understanding of credit risk, return metrics (RAROC, ROE), and capital considerations to pricing and portfolio recommendations
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of deal economics, pricing effectiveness, client behavior, and competitive dynamics
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, executive-ready recommendations that support growth, risk, and profitability objectives
Pricing & Product Enablement
  • Partner with business leaders to enhance lending pricing frameworks, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, capital usage, and market conditions
  • Translate commercial and client needs into well-defined product and pricing requirements, supported by rigorous financial analysis
  • Develop investment and enhancement business cases, including expected returns, risk sensitivities, and portfolio impacts
  • Support product changes and launches by coordinating with sales, credit, technology, and operations on tools, analytics, training, and documentation
Data & Analytics Execution
  • Leverage SQL, Python, or similar tools to extract, analyze, and interpret large commercial banking datasets
  • Build scalable analytical models and dashboards to support pricing, portfolio monitoring, and deal-level decisioning
  • Automate recurring reporting and analytical workflows to improve timeliness, consistency, and insight generation
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to improve data quality, lineage, and analytical infrastructure
Qualifications

Experience & Commercial Banking Expertise
  • 5-7+ years of experience in commercial banking, lending analytics, pricing, or related financial services roles
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit fundamentals, including deal structuring, pricing drivers, and portfolio performance
  • Experience applying analytics to lending decisions, portfolio optimization, or pricing strategy
Analytics & Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience using SQL and Python (or equivalent) for data analysis and insight generation
  • Ability to work with complex datasets and translate results into business-relevant insights
  • Experience building repeatable analytical solutions and performance reporting assets
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex financial and analytical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
  • Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders across business, credit, and functional teams

$110,500.00 - $192,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
