Build the Future with Us - As part of WSP's Southern Ontario Mine Water Team, this role offers the opportunity to support water-related engineering solutions for mining and environmental projects locally, nationally, and internationally.

Based in our Mississauga, ON office, this position is well suited for a Junior Water Resources Engineer who is eager to learn, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow under the guidance of experienced consultants. You'll support intermediate and senior engineers while gaining hands-on exposure to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, field programs, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Your Impact
  • Support intermediate and senior engineers on mine water and water resources engineering projects.
  • Contribute to hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including water balances, streamflow assessments, flood studies, and hydraulic evaluations.
  • Assist with assessments and designs related to water diversions, control structures, flood mitigation, and hydraulic infrastructure.
  • Help plan and participate in hydrological field programs at local and remote sites.
  • Compile, organize, and analyze field data to support technical assessments and design.
  • Develop inputs for hydrologic and hydraulic models with guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Canada and globally.
  • Participate in technical development opportunities supported by structured mentorship and training.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Academic or early-career experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and field techniques (e.g., streamflow measurements).
  • Commitment to working toward professional designation in Ontario when eligible.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License, clean driver's abstract, and access to a vehicle.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Comfort working in field environments, including active mine sites, with safety as a top priority.
  • Willingness to travel locally and remotely, including comfort with off-road vehicles and small aircraft.
  • Strong interest in learning new systems, tools, and technical skills.
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modelling, AutoCAD, GIS, or mine water management is an asset.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French or Spanish) is an asset.

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 - $88,400
  • MB & ON: $60,900 - $83,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $60,300 - $80,000
