Site Description: Kingston Health Sciences Centre is southeastern Ontario's complex, acute and specialty care, research and teaching hospital. Consisting of our Hotel Dieu site and Kingston General site, as well as the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario and our research institute, we care for more than 650,000 patients and their families from across our region.

Position: Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard - Burr 4 IOA

Site: Kingston General Hospital - 76 Stuart

Hours: Continental Rotation - 0800-2000/2000-0800

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement after 88 Hours

Payrate: $22.61/hour

Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain a professional, visible security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct the public
• Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Conduct interior/exterior patrols and respond to emergencies
• Document and report incidents, investigate as required
• Perform patient watches and enforce hospital policies/by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
• Support monthly safety inspections and other assigned duties
• Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)

• Immunization Form: KHSC Immunization Forms
• Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR-V immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• 6+ months security experience (healthcare or non-healthcare preferred)
• Full-time availability, minimum 6-month commitment
• English proficiency (oral & written) required; bilingualism (English/French) an asset
• 6+ months customer service experience preferred
• Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
•
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to their onboarding certification to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The Stay Safe certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all the costs of the certification with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
