Job Description

Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Climate Change Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. You will work alongside and learn from Canadian leaders in greenhouse gas (GHG) quantification, target setting, decarbonization, and climate risk. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Apply analytical skills and specialist knowledge of climate change to some of the most exciting and leading climate change projects in Canada
• Have an opportunity to support Canada's most complex and impactful climate change projects
• Gain experience across a range of sectors including financial services, telecommunications, energy, mining, industry, public sector, infrastructure, etc.
• Contribute effectively to complex, multi-disciplinary projects - often supporting several projects at a time
• Continue to develop your technical understanding of climate change and how it applies to business, investment, and government decision making; and support internal and external thought leadership on specialist issues within climate change
• Support technical projects in areas such as GHG quantification, target setting and decarbonization, adaptation and transition planning
• GHG quantification: Support our clients with everything from building Scope 1 and 2 inventories to solving their complex Scope 3 quantification challenges. We start our client's quantification and reporting journeys from scratch and support them to self-sufficiency. We also conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) to support our clients' understanding of their product specific carbon footprints throughout the value chain.
• Target setting, decarbonization and Climate Transition Plans: Support our clients with the development of GHG targets, alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the development of detailed decarbonization strategies and integration into their Climate Transition Plans.
• Tech-enablement and data quality: Support our clients to improve their data quality for decarbonization, including through the implementation of technology solutions.
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

• Understands potential general decarbonization levers if provided a GHG inventory and has previouslyevaluated the opportunity associated with GHG emissions reductions ( i.e. Cost, feasibility, technology readiness level, etc.)
• Has previously set GHG targets across Scope 1, 2, and 3
• Has project experience with one or more of the following: Scope 3 relevance assessments; quantification methodologies for each Scope 3 category; estimation approaches and proxies for Scope 1, 2, and each Scope 3 category; life cycle assessment quantifications (carbon footprint and other) in line with ISO standards; LCA reports in line with ISO standards; quantification of GHG emissions reductions from decarbonization levers
• Understands the SBTi criteria for general corporates and some sectors and the relevant decarbonization scenarios (1.5 degrees, well-below 2)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel at minimum; ideally also in related data preparation and transformation tools.
• An educational and/or applied background in one or more of climate science, engineering, financial analysis, or economics
• Critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
