As a Geotechnical Field Services Technician, you'll be on the front lines of delivering high-quality field testing and geotechnical data that supports safe, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure across the region. This is a junior-level role-perfect for someone eager to grow their technical skills, learn from experienced mentors, and contribute to impactful engineering projects.

Your Impact

• Perform field testing, including compaction testing, concrete testing, soil sampling, and materials verification.
• Collect accurate geotechnical data to support design, construction monitoring, and compliance requirements.
• Assist senior technicians and engineers with site investigations, drill-rig support, and borehole logging.
• Apply geotechnical testing standards and quality procedures to ensure reliable and defensible data.
• Prepare clear and organized field notes, reports, and documentation.
• Support safe work practices by following WSP's safety programs and participating actively in job-site risk assessments.
• Work on a variety of infrastructure, transportation, building, and land development projects-every day looks different.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Some experience (co-op, internship, or early career) in construction materials testing, field inspection, or geotechnical work.
• College technical diploma or University degree in a related discipline (civil, construction, geotechnical, environmental) considered an asset.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn geotechnical field techniques and industry standards.
• Comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions and travelling to job sites.
• Meets safety requirements and brings a proactive approach to hazard awareness.
• Valid driver's licence.
• A problem-solver who takes initiative and thrives in hands-on environments.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - $76,200
MB & ON: $52,500 - $72,300
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $52,000 - $69,000
