This full-time Engineering CAD Designer role is ideal for someone who enjoys transforming engineering concepts into detailed, constructible designs. You'll support electrical, instrumentation, communications, and control disciplines on industrial and infrastructure projects, working closely with engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality 2D and 3D design packages.

Using the Bentley Design Suite, you'll help shape safe, efficient, and future-ready solutions that support some of WSP's most impactful projects across Canada.

Your Impact

• Create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD and BIM platforms
• Perform electrical, instrumentation, communications, and control drafting, including:
• Single-line diagrams
• Wiring and interconnection diagrams
• Loop diagrams and layouts
• Develop accurate 3D CAD models that support multidisciplinary coordination
• Support or administer Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and workflows
• Prepare drawings and models for construction, procurement, and as-built documentation
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure integrated design delivery
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of CAD standards and processes

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Diploma or technical certification in Engineering Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  
• CAD design experience ranging from 2 years through senior - level expertise, with responsibilities aligned to experience
  
• Designers with 5+ years of experience will have opportunities to take on increased technical complexity and mentorship responsibilities
  
• Senior designers with 10+ years of experience may support advanced coordination and project delivery activities
  
• Proficiency with Bentley Design Suite tools such as:
  
  • MicroStation
    
  • OpenPlant Modeler
    
  • Bentley Raceway and Cable Management (BRCM)
    
  • iTwin or ProjectWise (asset)
    
• Experience producing electrical, instrumentation, and control design deliverables
  
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple design tasks simultaneously
  
• A collaborative mindset and interest in working within multidisciplinary project teams
  

Compensation
This role is open to two different seniority levels. As such, two compensation ranges are being shared to reflect the scope, experience, and level of responsibility aligned to each level.

Junior / Intermediate Level

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $63,300 - $83,800
MB & ON: $57,700 - $79,500
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $57,2000 - $75,900

Senior Level (10+ years of experience)

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $93,700 - $124,200
MB & ON: $85,500 - $117,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $84,700 - $112,400
