Are you a talented leader with a proven track record for motivating teams and delivering exceptional client service?

Join KPMG as a Director in Software Asset Management (SAM), leading strategic advisory and transformation engagements that help clients optimize software investments, reduce licensing and compliance risk, and strengthen SAM and IT Asset Management capabilities. You will combine executive client leadership, technical expertise, business development, and team leadership to deliver measurable value.

What you will do
  • Lead go-to-market and sales strategy for SAM and IT Asset Management services.
  • Lead enterprise SAM and IT Asset Management transformations, maturity assessments, operating-model design, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Advise executives on software licensing, compliance, governance, optimization, contract renewals, audit readiness, and vendor reviews.
  • Guide delivery across discovery, normalization, entitlement management, reconciliation, reporting, and optimization.
  • Advise on leading SAM platforms and discovery tools, including ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera One, Snow Software, ILMT/ILS, SCCM, Tanium, and BigFix.
  • Provide licensing guidance across major publishers, including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Adobe, Salesforce, VMware, and Red Hat.
  • Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to optimize software spend and licensing across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, applying FinOps principles where relevant.
  • Identify new opportunities, develop proposals and statements of work, support RFPs, and build strong executive client relationships.
  • Grow KPMG's SAM practice by coaching teams, developing reusable assets, supporting recruitment, and advancing automation, AI, and analytics.
What you bring to the role
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAM, IT Asset Management, technology consulting, or enterprise software licensing.
  • Experience leading large-scale consulting engagements and managing multiple client priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models, SaaS and cloud licensing, discovery technologies, CMDB, ITSM, enterprise software procurement, and FinOps principles.
  • Executive-level communication, stakeholder management, commercial acumen, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, practice development, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Relevant certifications may include CSAM or IAITAM credentials, ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, ITIL Foundation, or PMP.

AI technologies used in our recruitment process undergo detailed risk assessments, including security and privacy requirements, that align with KPMG's Trusted AI framework.
