To accelerate this ambition, BMO is seeking a Director, Enterprise Data Management Platforms & Governance Tooling to join the Enterprise Data Office within the AI+ Research & Commercialization (ARC) team. In this senior, enterprise-wide leadership role, you will oversee and advance BMO's data management tooling ecosystem at scale, serving as the enterprise service owner for the tooling and capabilities suite inclusive of, but not limited to, metadata management and end-to-end lineage, data quality, data defect workflow and issue management, and adjacent governance platforms operationalized by a suite of vendor and proprietary solutions. You will lead both 'Build the Bank' capability development and 'Run the Bank' operational execution, set product roadmaps and SLAs, drive adoption across personas and domains, and ensure seamless integration across the tool suite in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Solution Engineering.
As the Director, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of product owners and vendor partners, establish standards and decision guardrails, and own intake, prioritization, and backlog management to maximize value delivery. Working closely with the business-driven CDAO user story intake and delivery model, business domain data offices across Operating Groups and Corporate Functions, Technology, Risk and Compliance, and Audit, you will harmonize data and analytics risk directives into automated and repeatable processes, improve end-to-end lineage accuracy, operationalize data quality rule execution, and align policy and standards with day-to-day workflows. Your leadership will directly enable AI-ready data, reduce data risk, strengthen regulatory defensibility including RDARR and BCBS 239 requirements, and scale AI and innovation across BMO through automation, integration, and modern data practices.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

What will you do:
- Define and implement the portfolio / product strategy for data analytics and AI that support business objectives.
- Partner with designers, data engineers, data scientists and agile development teams to define and deliver products with a focus on user experience.
- Innovate to enhance and/or develop new products in order to improve the customer experience.
- Manage risks associated with products to ensure compliance and risk management.
- Build interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups to create the highest value for all stakeholders.

- Act as the prime contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators.
- Oversee the development of business analytics and insights including: portfolio profitability tracking, product analytics, revenue forecasts, operations metrics, trend analytics and predictive modelling.
- Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
- Lead the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behavior.
- Collaborate across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behavior.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.
- Lead/oversee the management of vendor relationships and provides guidelines for execution; ensures that all agreements are met as per requirements.
- Lead/support contract negotiations with vendors, balancing cost, risk and performance.
- Set policies for product portfolio.
- Define the scope of development for new products and on-going feature enhancements.
- Manage portfolio of new and existing products, owns product roadmaps, offerings, new feature prioritization and manages backlog items.
- Develop and present business case justification for new products and feature enhancements.
- Analyze information and metrics for product customer satisfaction, identifies areas of improvement and incorporates feedback.
- Maintain understanding of partner and vendor roadmaps and understands how to leverage technologies to ensure business value.
- Understand and keeps up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends and innovative solutions being implemented across the industry.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors.
- Operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a senior specialist resource across BMO.
- Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to multiple, interdependent, complex problems.
- Anticipate trends and responds by implementing appropriate changes.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Typically 10-15 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid background in Enterprise Data Governance, having held senior leadership roles (including Director level) while steering the Data Governance function.
- Significant acumen in Product Management/Ownership from POC to MVP to Execution and delivery (full cycle), including defining the product roadmap & strategy.
- Significant exposure and experience with tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Manta, Solidatus, BigID, Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Wiz, IDQ, Monte Carlo, Neteeza, AWS, Azure, Microsoft Power Platforms (covering all data management cycle from data cataloguing to data lineage, data quality, metadata, etc.).

- Able to manage ambiguity.
- Comfortable working across teams and business units, while fostering exceptional stakeholder relationships and synergy.
