Position Summary

The Biological Coordinator supports NH immunization programs by providing ongoing administration of Vaccine Inventory Management & Quality Control, implementing, and monitoring policies, processes, and practices to address existing & emerging program needs. This role supports high quality vaccine inventory management for Immunization supplies by providing and clarifying workflow processes, protocol information, training, and education to NH Biological Product Monitor (BPM) staff. Inventory Management education/ support provided for BPM staff by the Biological Coordinator includes topics of Cold Chain management, approved vaccine transport, stock rotation/ loss minimization, product shortage/ change, vaccine format and usage, immunization schedules, and required use of provincially supported electronic vaccine inventory management programs. The Biological Coordinator conducts regional and local reviews of supply usage, stock status, and vaccine product wastage. The Biological Coordinator acts as the program liaison with user departments regarding supply availability and outbreak management requirements. The Biological Coordinator manages vaccine inventories held by NH and performs a variety of administrative support functions, including order processing through to inventory system administration and distribution, maintaining various departmental databases, and composing correspondence, technical and non-technical reports, and educational materials. The Biological Coordinator assists in the development and implementation of strategies to distribute vaccines to key stakeholders and evaluates the ongoing capability of NH to respond efficiently to vaccine needs. The Biological Coordinator develops and maintains key partnerships with BPMs, other health authorities, and British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) to coordinate, facilitate, and support the delivery of NH Immunization Programs. The Biological Coordinator evaluates training needs for BPMs and facilitates the BPM Learning Pathway for new and current BPMs. May supervise designated support staff.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work:: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30

Qualfications
• Diploma in a business or health related field plus five years' recent, related experience supplemented by courses in computer software technology; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Class V B.C. Driver's License.

• Able to demonstrate word processing skills and proficiency in creating and working with spreadsheets, databases and creating presentation materials, utilizing a variety of software applications.
• Able to operate equipment related to the management & distribution of vaccines (e.g. data loggers).
• Physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
