What you will do
At the Manager level, you will lead the delivery of internal agentic AI initiatives, taking ownership of complex problem and guiding work from experimentation through validated outcomes. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, working closely with Senior Managers, service line leaders, and AI Builders - internal and client service team to shape the experimentation pipeline, oversee prototyping efforts, and ensure high quality outcomes across internal transformation initiatives and Lab based work.
In this role, you will:
AI Builder (Internal):
• Lead the design, build, and deployment of production grade agents, plugins, skills, and tools using the firm's approved AI and engineering stack.
• Own the full build lifecycle: Lab prototyping, evaluations, productionization, change management, and ongoing product ownership.
• Partner with cloud platform and engineering teams to ensure code quality, reliability, security, and scalability in production environments.
• Ensure demo readiness, including narrative, artifacts, and appropriate demo safety and governance checks.
• Package validated prototypes into reusable demos, kits, and handoff materials for downstream teams.
• Balance speed with judgment, embedding risk, governance, and trust considerations appropriate to prototype maturity.
• Provide delivery and technical leadership to Consultants and Senior Consultants, setting direction, reviewing work, and coaching teams.
• Capture and share learnings through one pagers, replication kits, and internal AI literacy artifacts.
What you bring to the role
At KPMG in Canada, we know the strongest builders come from a wide range of backgrounds, including engineering, business, strategy, design, and self-taught technical paths. This role is designed for experienced professionals, typically with 5-8+ years of work experience, who can lead, build, and scale AI solutions in complex and regulated environment.
Where and how you'll work
You will be based out of KPMG's AI Labs in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, or Montreal
As part of the internal builder model, your work will align primarily the following context:
Embedded in business units (AI Builder - Internal): Supporting internal teams by building and testing agentic workflows and prototypes that explore how autonomous agents could improve internal delivery and operations. You'll work alongside a core internal team and gain exposure to a range of internal use cases, tools, and applied research efforts across the firm.
What's in it for you
• The opportunity to lead and shape how agentic AI is explored, demonstrated, and validated inside a large, complex professional services firm
• Ownership of high impact experimentation and prototyping efforts that influence internal transformation and future delivery models
• A multidisciplinary environment with builders, researchers, designers, client service teams and business leaders working side by side
• An AI Lab built for experimentation, with secure infrastructure, frontier models and, harnesses and driving applied research
• The ability to develop leadership experience by guiding teams, setting direction, and defining how agentic AI capabilities move from concept to something real
How to apply
Submit a resume and, if you choose, a short cover letter that helps us understand your experience and what you care about. Use this to highlight how you think, learn, and approach complex problems, especially in client or enterprise environments.
Something you've built - A project, a prototype, a system, a workflow you redesigned, an agent you configured, an automation you created. It doesn't have to be agentic AI specifically. It just has to show us how you think and what you're capable of. A GitHub repo, a demo video, a write-up of how you approached a hard problem, all work. We encourage thoughtful, original work-use AI as a tool, but make sure your own thinking and approach come through clearly.

This role is designed for experienced professionals, typically with 5-8+ years of work experience, who can lead, build, and scale AI solutions in complex and regulated environment.
- You bring strong enterprise fluency and understand how large organizations operate across functions, balancing strategy, technology, and execution. You can navigate stakeholder landscapes and translate business needs into scalable AI-driven solutions.
- You identify high-impact opportunities for agentic AI, connecting business pain points to practical, value-driven implementations. You guide teams in prioritizing use cases that deliver measurable outcomes.
- You think in systems and workflows, not just models, designing and overseeing multi-step processes that incorporate human-AI collaboration, governance boundaries, and appropriate levels of autonomy.
- You lead with a builder mindset, empowering teams to move from concept to execution. Whether through code, low-code platforms, APIs, or orchestration tools, you ensure solutions are tangible, usable, and production-ready.
- You take end-to-end ownership at scale, from shaping problem statements and solution design through to deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement across client environments.
- You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and leading through it, guiding teams and clients through evolving problem spaces while maintaining momentum and clarity on outcomes.
- You build, test, and iterate with intention, applying structured thinking while enabling speed. You make informed trade-offs and coach others to do the same.
- You embed responsible AI practices by design, ensuring that risk, governance, ethics, and trust are integral to every solution-not afterthoughts.
- You lead and develop teams, creating an environment where builders can do their best work, grow quickly, and deliver meaningful impact for clients.
