Department Overview
TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. The primary role of the Manager is to support TDAM's risk management culture of personal accountability and the integrity of the investment management discipline. To achieve this, the Manager will be required to be the risk expert and partner with all areas of the business in helping them understand and address their risk exposures.
Position will report directly to the Vice President & Director, Business and Product Governance ("VP&D") and be responsible for working with the business on the development of new business and product processes, supporting the business on completing change management risk assessments, and implementing enhancements to existing products, policies and processes, as well as building governance programs with the business. This position will be expected to communicate with employees across all levels of TDAM in order to satisfy their job responsibilities. The incumbent will be required to work independently and have strong leadership and communication skills.
Position will be expected to assist other members of the team as the need arises.

Job Description
Specific Accountabilities:

Supporting the Business on Change Management:
• Educating the business on the change management process including the completion of the TDAM and, if required, Wealth Change Management approval forms
• Working with the business to identify and assess risks associated with product and process implementations in order to ensure that the business will have appropriate controls in place and that the risks will be within the TDAM risk appetite
• Defining key processes and working with the process owners to facilitate the creation of process maps, identification of key risks and controls, and, production of evidence to show the controls are effective
Management of New Business and/or Product Process Initiatives for the Business:
• Manage new Business and Product Process initiatives from requirements development to testing
• Define key processes and work with process owners to facilitate the creation of process maps, identification of key risks and controls, and production of evidence to demonstrate the controls are effective
• Create and maintain project artifacts, including weekly status reporting, issue logs, meeting minutes, implementation plans, and post implementation assessments
Other Risk, Governance and Oversight Activities:
• Producing ad hoc reporting at the request of TDAM's Executive
• Meeting reporting and submission requirements of Wealth Risk and Group Risk
• Participating in various RPG and Investment Risk activities on an as needed basis

• Strong leadership, persuasion, presentation and communication skills
• Collaborative working style and the ability to facilitate groups with competing agendas to gain consensus and mitigate risks to TDAM/TD.
• An ability to make decisions with incomplete information
• Aptitude for networking and using your network for assistance in projects where you have limited knowledge
• Talent for directing people who do not report to you

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
• Degree, preferably in business administration, finance, engineering or science
• An industry designation, such as a CFA and/or MBA
• Experience in or knowledge of the investment management business
• Operational Risk Management skills
• Familiarity with investment industry regulations
