What is the opportunity?
As an Associate, you will be responsible for supervisory oversight for Global Markets front-office electronic trading applications, maintaining electronic trading data integrity/quality and executing delegated authority from senior front office management to approve system changes with potential regulatory impact. Support the Global Head of Electronic Trading Supervision and embed the Electronic Trading Supervisory Programme, designed to adequately meet internal/regulatory requirements and industry best practices. What will you do?Maintain detailed inventory and architecture of all eTrading flows and associated reference dataReview changes to establish potential regulatory impactProvide business requirements and implementation signoff for changes with potential regulatory impactAct as a central point of contact between Front Office, Compliance and Technology for change management processesEnsure the Front Office has an accurate understanding of current, pending and proposed regulatory developments as they arise Keep abreast of regulatory change and guidance, analysing communications and policies in consideration of the impact on Global Markets from an Electronic Trading perspectiveExecute supervisory activity as part of the Electronic Trading Supervisory programme, designed to meet internal and external requirements Ensure effective implementation, sustainability and oversight of designated FO Supervisory and Risk Management controls within Global Markets, specifically relating to Electronic Market Access and Algorithmic TradingSupport the Head of Electronic Trading Supervision with management reporting activities, including preparation of electronic trading management information, such as key risk indicators and key performance indicatorsWork closely with IT and Front Office to leverage expertise and technology where possible, in an effort to automate and reduce inefficiencies related to Supervisory reviewsCoordinate with internal audit and other control functions regarding business-driven Supervisory oversightComplete analysis to support recommendations to Global Markets Management to ensure the GM strategy considers regulatory and policy requirements, anticipating impacts on the business planFoster, develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior functional and business management in order to adequately support the businessMaintain close working relationships with Senior Management, Desk Heads, Business Management, Global Initiatives Group, and related functionsProactively identify operational risk/control deficiencies in the business and assist in developing solutions / mitigating controlsReview and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activitiesPromptly escalate operational risk events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions.What do you need to succeed?Must-have:At least 3 years of prior experience working in the Global Markets businessExtensive experience managing complex projects with multiple senior stakeholdersExperience documenting complex trade processes (multiple teams/regions/applications)A passion for regulatory frameworks, in particular regulatory reporting and front-office electronic trading technology/trade reporting related regulatory requirements (e.g. MiFID II, 15c3-5 etc.)Good understanding of change management processes, including approval workflows, supporting documentation, test phases, roles/responsibilities etc.Good understanding of financial markets and global markets businesses (particular focus on Global Equities)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressureSkilled at navigating data challenges and propose/implement solutionsKnowledge of FIX protocol is a bonus but not a prerequisiteAbility to collaborate and execute key program requirements in a complex matrixed organizationAbility to take ownership of issues and drive to a successful delivery or outcome, including both tactical and strategic solutions Demonstrates proven impact and influencing skills to engage cross-functional team membersStrong and recognized written and oral communication skillsAbility to work with ambiguity and to navigate a highly regulated environmentWhat's in it for you?
