They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals. In deal valuation at PwC, you will focus on providing analysis and valuation services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions. You will help clients make informed decisions by assessing the worth and potential risks of various deals. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience and deep knowledge of complex financial instruments combined with a keen understanding of capital markets and business acumen.

Meaningful work you'll be a part of:
As a Valuations, Complex Financial Instrument s Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide valuation of complex financial instruments such as debentures with embedded derivatives, exotic options, structure products, contingent considerations, management equity plans, commodity contracts, private credits , venture capitals. Prepare valuation reports in support of financial reporting, disputes, taxation, corporate planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and corporate governance.
• Research and develop quantitative tools to provide analytical insights into business transactions and asset valuations using market and company data.
• Review client-provided materials, including term sheets, and independently construct robust valuation models tailored to the engagement context.
• Manage multiple client engagements concurrently, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work products in accordance with agreed-upon timelines.
• Conduct in-depth market research on valuation methodologies, industry trends, and technical topics to support analysis and client deliverables.
• Develop a strong understanding of relevant accounting standards as they relate to valuation issues and financial reporting requirements.
• Embrace and apply new tools and technologies to enhance workflow efficiency, analytical depth, and client service delivery.
• Establish credibility with existing clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge.
• Perform audit support work including the review of complex financial instrument valuation and private credit portfolio valuations.

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve:
• A strong academic background in a quantitative or finance discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or other relevant postgraduate degrees) .
• Solid understanding of financial derivatives and fixed income securities valuation modelling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and project management skills, an ability to analyze business situations and a professional and personable demeanour to interact with clients and work effectively in teams.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge and experience in common programming languages ( e.g. Python/R/Visual Basic) will be an asset .
• Knowledge and experience in software and platforms such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, AtRisk , Crystal Ball, and F IN CAD is considered an asset.
• Actively pursuing or have completed professional designations such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA is an asset.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and analytical rigor.
