KPMG Law LLP's US immigration practice is comprised of US educated and licensed attorneys and a robust support staff who provide services to companies and individuals needing immigration assistance in the United States. The practice provides strategic counsel and customized solutions to assist global minded businesses deal efficiently and effectively with their cross border workforce.

With a fundamental emphasis on compliance, KPMG Law LLP's US immigration team can help you get necessary US status, US visas, US work and residence permits, determine applicable visa categories and advise on immigration topics and processes. They also offer valuable insight into changes in US immigration laws and policies, and appropriate.

What you will do
  • Responsible for preparing and drafting various documents in support of various Canadian and US immigration applications including Permanent Residency and other associated status and entry document applications
  • Support multiple and challenging business immigration engagements and contribute to the delivery of solutions and ideas for clients.
  • Up to date knowledge of Canadian & US immigration practices and procedures
  • Knowledge in Canadian corporate immigration law, including experience preparing work permit (including LMIA and ICT applications) and/or permanent residence applications (including Express Entry and PNP-based applications)
  • Assist with obtaining legal documents (birth certificates, police clearances, etc.)
  • Prepare supporting documents for application packages (letters, application forms, etc.)
  • Preparing and processing immigration applications, maintaining case correspondence and document files.
  • Researching applicable processes and requirements for different types of applications
  • Assisting with case strategy and assessments and client management
  • Preparing and drafting relevant materials in support of applications
What you bring to the role
  • 2-4 years' experience at an immigration law firm
  • Experience working in immigration, experience in global immigration considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal language skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
