In this role, as a key member of our MITS - Operations team, you will be working to support the operations arm of the MITS team to support our "external customer" base in Eastern Canada on a 7x24 hour basis.

•Responding to escalations received from any customer and team on events and problems
•Providing timely resolutions within the contracted service levels for all supported, hardware, VMware and Windows Operating System (OS)
•Participating in various team & project meetings
•Responsible for the creation and maintenance of client specific documentation in support of a standard operating environment
•Planning appropriate execution of own tasks so that time is effectively used and progress can be monitored Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Day to day operation of Windows 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2016 OS
•Day to day operations of VMware vSphere/ESX 5.x and up environments, Enterprise Level
•Must have strong communication skills and ability to work individually, within a team, with other groups and with users
•Manage all hardware, software upgrades and patches to OS/hardware
•Must have ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences
•Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment
•Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues
•Ability to lead and manage system initiatives, assignments and new projects
•Work with external vendors/consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution
•Attend weekly team meeting and customer meeting when required
•Monitor and respond to alerts from the technology infrastructure in order to ensure proper service level agreements (SLAs) are met
•On-call rotation 24x7 support duties
•Required to work off business times and days as per customer change windows Great-to-haves
•Minimum 3 years of VMware vSphere/ESX 5.x and up technology experience with core Virtualization and its associated products and solutions and Microsoft (MS) Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016
•Expert understanding of and experience with Active Directory & Domain architecture, New Technology File System (NTFS) permissions, Domain Name System (DNS), OS security, and systems patching
•Strong knowledge and experience of VMware Technology, storage area network (SAN)
•Experience with Citrix XenApp 5.0 and up
•Virtual Networking: Virtual Switches, VM Kernel Ports
•Virtual Storage, VSAN: Access Control and Virtual Machine File System (VMFS) data stores
•Creation, management and configuration of Virtual Machines, Clone & Templates
•Server Consolidation with VMware Converter: P2P & P2V Conversions
•Snapshot manager and restoring a snapshot
•Strong understanding of networking: routing, subnets, User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), Internet Protocol (IP) & Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs)
•Manage and maintain standards, procedures and support documentation
•High availability, Clustering, VMotion, Storage VMotion
•Assist in the planning, installation, support, and configuration of MS Server & Active Directory, Group Policy Who is TELUS?
