The SmartHome Security Solutions DevOps Team oversees the development and support of technologies that drive an exceptional customer experience across consumer, business and health portfolios. Our team works with internal and external partners to develop new products and services and provides the highest tier of support for security and automation products at TELUS. We spearhead complex root cause analysis investigations and drive reliability improvements through technology innovations.Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together
As a Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering solutions that support TELUS SmartHome Security. With your innovative mindset, you will drive the development of the central monitoring platform, microservices, cloud and onprem systems and physical infrastructures.Here's how
•Develop the Mastermind integrated software platform that is used in our central monitoring stations
•Test and certify software releases for all central monitoring station components
•Identify and resolve production defects, working with the product vendor to resolve the defects and tracking the defects for closure to ensure product quality and reliability
•Become a subject matter expert in security solutions platforms like Mastermind, Bold, DICE and the UL standards applicable to the security and automation industry
•Work with internal teams, vendors and business stakeholders to develop functional requirements, develop solutions and test them - concept to implementation
•Enable new services by leveraging TELUS and partner cloud services where appropriate
•Create and maintain detailed documents on recommended best practices Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Valued for your strong background in systems architecture and design
•Skilled in configuring and managing large scale software solutions in an enterprise environment and have hands on experience in Java, SQL, JAX-WS, JMS, XML, GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Jira
•Familiar with network components like switches, routers, proxies and firewalls and can design, build and configure networks between system elements
•Respected for your ability to implement automated processes for monitoring and managing software platforms, including integrating into analytics tools like SPLUNK and/or ELK
•Talented in developing functional test plans, and written and executed functional test cases
•Known for thinking outside-of-the-box and are able to implement contrarian ideas to standard practices entrenched in a traditional industry
•Regarded for your track record for building relationships with product vendors and technology partners
•With a knack for organized and detail oriented work assignments
•Committed to being flexible and adaptable and able to work in a complex and evolving technology lab environment
•With a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science Great-to-haves
•5+ Years in a Systems Analyst or Developer role
•Experience in software development
•Experience in an industry stands committee or working group
•Knowledge of IoT ecosystems and mobile application architectures
