As Supervising Producer - Breakfast Television you'll be responsible for leading Canada's longest running morning TV show. The successful candidate will be a highly creative & proven producer capable of inspiring our on air talent and behind the scenes production team to achieve the show's vision, every day! The BT brand has a rich legacy and you'll know how to respect the show's heritage while graciously leading the show into the future; you'll be passionate about putting your stamp on the next chapter of the show which will include a mandate to increase the show's engagement on broadcast and digital channels. You are competitive, ambitious and extremely motivated to achieve goals. You'll naturally be at ease creating an environment of accountability, freedom, encouragement and trust to ensure your team feels empowered to do their best creative work. This is a maternity cover position that will report to the Executive Producer of In-House Productions. Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Oversee all aspects of the daily program, including a broad variety of news and lifestyle content, interviews and integrated Sales segments on all platforms
- Work closely with on-air talent to build performances and provide them support for creative ideation during the show; you will be confident in providing feedback to fuel their growth as performers
- Provide leadership, direction and feedback on all editorial and production elements
- Innovate and support digital strategies that enhance viewer engagement and build audiences
- Work with the Sales team to produce integrated segments that engage viewers and generate revenue
- Collaborate with Operations and Production team to ensure highest quality production
- Ensure that Rogers News policies and guidelines are followed and CRTC compliance targets are achieved
- Supervise the allocation of resources to maximize value and minimize costs
- Oversee and provide leadership for special event coverage
- Carry out administrative duties, including staff scheduling, training, performance reviews, health and safety initiatives and month-end reports
- Work with community, government, sports and entertainment groups to forge strong working relationships
- Champion a culture of clarity, creativity, inclusion and collaboration. You'll lead by example and be accountable for ensuring our team has a fair and fun working environment.
What you have:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role or related experience leading teams in a production environment
- Strong editorial judgement and awareness of current events
- Ability to lead a team and have a positive impact in a short period of time
- Ability to work with on-air talent and inspire their very best performance
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Coaching skills to develop employees
- Strong knowledge of graphics, studio and ENG production
