Rogers is seeking a Senior Technical Support Specialist to support Rogers Radio/TV Broadcast applications for our Media IT production environment.  This position reports to the Senior Manager, Media I.T. Delivery at the Rogers downtown Campus located at 1 Mount Pleasant.  Experience with Radio/TV Broadcast application support, Deskside support or other functions within the Media space is key. Proven ability to work with Sales and Broadcast projects to deliver new and enhanced functionality to the business is also key.

What you will do....
  • Review and produce detailed functional, design and integration specifications that satisfy user requirements and adhere to development standards
  • Deliver the implementation of new programs or systems into the non-prod and production environments.
  • Review application software problem reports to provide explanations to vendors for changes as required
  • Preparation of testing guidelines, system documentation including Requirements Matrix and Solution Design Specification documents
  • Assist with acceptance testing and the planning and coordination of system deliverables.
  • Post implementation support and review
  • Provide high quality internal, external, ITS and business unit stakeholder communications.
  • Synthesize information into succinct, concise and logical summaries and reports.
  • Maintenance and management functions for Application life cycle
  • Provide support and mentoring to others in the team

What you will bring....
  • University degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with media based application in the broadcast area
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows, Citrix, XenAPP, Informatica-IICS, SQL Server, IIS, .NET and JBOSS environments
  • Linux (Red Hat) Administration and batch jobs
  • SQL Monitoring and Query authoring
  • Working with the following databases: SQL, MS SQL, MSACCESS, MySQL
  • Experience in working with external software vendors
  • Working experience with Business Process Management and Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Understanding of Database cluster, and High availability configurations
  • Managing an application portfolio in a multi-tiered environment
  • ITIL processes certificate nice to have
