What is the opportunity?
In this role, you will be responsible to work with multiple stakeholders in all lines of business in designing a comprehensive suite of ‘horizontal' preventative & detective controls to mitigate regulatory risks which covers multiple lines of business e.g. cost of borrowing, consents, alerts and notifications and AML. You will be responsible to create robust monitoring to provide each line of business with a view on how effectively their regulatory risk is being mitigated.What will you do? In partnership with the Regulatory Champion and lines of business, identifies key regulatory risks requiring new key controls Responsible for the design of horizontal control solutions to mitigate regulatory risk that exists across multiple lines of businesses.Partners with IT to provide requirements for new preventative ( business rule) controls and detective controls In partnership with Business Risk Monitoring & Solutions and the Regulatory champion, designs & implements robust monitoring ( and testing) to provide each line of business with a view on how their controls are operating Leads the work with the lines of business to identify their critical ‘regulatory' data elements Partners with the Risk Data Management Office to identify and assess the effectiveness of existing Canadian Banking ‘risk data' controls Works with the lines of business and Operations partners to embed controls in procedures as requiredWorks with the lines of business to ensure all new key controls are documented in the Enterprise Repository for Internal Controls (ERIC)What do you need to succeed? Must have: Previous experience in Canadian Banking process or product rolesPrevious people management or proven leadership experience Solid understanding of the Risk & Control framework Strong influencing, collaboration, relationship building and communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practices Nice-to-have Solid working knowledge of the financial services regulatory landscape, ideally with several years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance or Internal AuditWhat's in it for you?
