As a Senior Tax Staff, you will be a part of our Business Tax Incentives (BTI) practice. is seeking a candidate with experience delivering Canadian federal and provincial government Grants, Incentives, and Tax Credits to provide advisory services to our clients in Toronto and across Canada. You will be interacting regularly with clients at the forefront of their industries and technologies.
Your key responsibilities
As a BTI Grants and Incentives specialist you will be working with clients across numerous industries, from entrepreneurs to public corporations, to review their business strategy and develop custom roadmaps for their incentive needs. This involves meeting with C suite executives, to assess the client's eligibility to receive funding for the numerous grants and incentives available in Canada and assist companies to obtain funding. You will discuss and map out the growth strategy of the client in order to determine and evaluate the best combination of incentives to meet their needs. As an experienced grants and incentives specialists you are familiar with the incentives landscape in Ontario and across Canada, if you want to apply your knowledge to firms leading their industries and growing rapidly, this role is for you.
Skills and attributes for success
• Meet with clients and leverage your broad knowledge of current Grants and Incentive programs to identify opportunities across all industries and company types
• Prepare detailed reporting on eligibility criteria
• Assist in the preparation and filing of grants and incentive applications
• Assist in reviews with program administrators
• Manage client expectations and strict deadlines
To qualify for the role you must have
• Bachelors or Master's degree
• Experience with current Federal and Provincial Grants and Incentives program a requirement
• Strong understanding of various industries operational standards
• Creative thinker - ability to innovate solutions to client problems on the spot.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
• Outgoing personality
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Ideally, you'll also have
• Fluent in French and English would also be considered an asset.
