Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the ScotiaDigital platform in Global ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Design, build and maintain products, owning and solving problems from end-to-end
  • Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
  • Work with teams across the organization on building reusable components that are incorporated in multiple products
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed?
  • B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, or related discipline
  • Four years of software related experience
  • End-to-end software architecture, design and development of complex distributed cloud based micro-service system
  • Fluent with functional, imperative and object-oriented languages like Java, Scala, Clojure or JavaScript is needed for software integrations.
  • Experience with software testing, documenting, control/release management is needed for software design.
  • Experience implementing large scale, mission critical, 24x7 HA web applications
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD principals
