The Mission Critical Environments (MCE) Senior Program Manager for Operations Support is responsible for providing national program and senior strategy support to the Director and the Regional Program Managers for the National Building Operations and Maintenance program at TELUS. We support approximately 2500 mission critical properties, including Telecom Central Offices, Data Centres and other Critical Environments/properties with an approximate operating budget of $40M per year. Typical projects include wide ranging analysis and support for HVAC, AC and DC Electrical Services and House Services. This role manage does not manage Office and People sites.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

Your role is key in defining ever changing technology standards and service level expectations for all of our sites, as well as monitoring performance, compliance and ensuring all financial and contractual expectations are met. The Critical Environments aspect of this role is technical and requires in depth knowledge of Critical Environments including House Services, HVAC, Fire/Life/Safety and Electrical. This role will take your technical knowledge to the next level, flexing it and combining it with business and analytical requirements. The MCE Building Operations and Maintenance program is primarily delivered by our partner, BGIS. This role is a key liaison and is responsible for overseeing BGIS and ensuring that team meets KPIs, internal and external audits and standards. You will work closely with the Regional Managers and BGIS to ensure all deliverables are met in accordance with expectations and contracts. The role is an individual contributor position with a wide network of support across AB, BC, ON and QC. You will be supported by high performance individuals across Canada both from TELUS as well as BGIS.

    •Advising, recommending, and presenting requirements, expectations, ideas, analysis, and concepts to a broad group of stakeholders •Champions mission critical and real estate best practices, including the TELUS Master Maintenance Standard (TMMS) and process improvements •Ensuring our Service Provider meets performance expectations •Acts as a single point of contact and provides regular feedback to our Service Provider in support of elevating our technology standards and service levels


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Extensive and in-depth knowledge of mission critical environments and real estate operations and maintenance •Ability to interpret corporate strategies and translate them into practical operations plans •Advanced financial analysis, budget management and modeling skills •Excellent negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including demonstrated ability to successfully lead through all forms of conflict (e.g. people, resourcing, priorities, circular dependencies) •Ability to formulate partner assessments, drive engagement and employ consensus strategies that result in strong execution •Ability to drive operational efficiencies by leveraging appropriate technology solutions such as automation and systems development •University degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent related technical diploma, or equivalent experience •Minimum 10 years of mission critical environments, data centre or facilities management and operations experience

    •Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree •The position can be located in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary or Toronto
