Do you ever wonder how the packages show up at your door when you ordered from Amazon?
Amazon's global fulfillment business is one of the largest and most complex operations in the world. Our technologically advanced warehouses are at the center. They form the invisible back half of Amazon that magically turns your click of a button into a product at your door. Amazon Sortation Technologies are a key part of that solution, enabling the flow of inventory into and out of warehouses and the consolidation of items for a shipment.
We're seeking a Product Manager -Technical to drive the evolution of our products and help build the next-generation of our services. In this role you will be responsible for defining our products, understanding our business value, and driving innovation. These responsibilities include collection and prioritization of business and systems requirements from internal and external stakeholders, writing specifications, and diving deep on our customer needs. You will lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and external stakeholders. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, and clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes.
The right candidate will possess a strong technical product management background and will have a well-rounded technical background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a PM-T, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential for success in this role.
