Job Description

About This Role

Leads and manages a team of specialized Engineers and Build professionals for Load Balancing and DNS in the development and implementation of solutions to meet business needs and aligned with technology strategies and emerging industry standards; this includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry standards.

•Senior Managing Engineer -leads a team responsible for Engineering of TD Application Delivery using F5 Big-IP (LTM/GTM) and DDI (QIP - Nokia). This role will lead the engineering, design and deployments of solutions of the core Application Delivery Networking components of the firm; leverages core networking technologies as F5, with Application Fluency at layers 4 -7 to optimize the performance of existing and new applications; acts as a trusted advisor to the application development teams to ensure performance and resiliency requirements are optimized. This role also includes over DDI - QIP Platform - internal and external DNS services, IPAM.

Provide overall team leadership, training, coaching, development, succession, recruitment and resource management and provide on-going feedback and input into performance assessment and development plans for each team member •Clearly define and communicate strategies, objectives and accountabilities to team members and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value that is delivered to business / internal partners •Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective client solutions •Be engaged in advancing and sustaining a unique, inclusive culture that reflects TD's diversity agenda, and create an extraordinary employee experience. •Lead in knowledge transfer meetings / forums with senior management, the team, other technical areas and business units

This role will be responsible for managing solutions in the following areas:
Application Delivery & Load Balancing:DDI/IPAM (Nokia QIP)F5 Technologies (LTM/GTM, Psychical and Virtual )Network Application Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, BGP)Cloud based (Private/Public)

The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to engineer, design and document solutions in these areas of Application Delivery working closely with the Application Development, Security Engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions incorporate best practices for Web traffic optimization.

Requirements

Leveraging F5 technologies and DDI to architect solutions for traffic balancing within WEB application platforms
Partner with the Application Development groups to understand new requirements or major initiatives in customer facing Web applications and offer ways to optimize flows
Analyze existing application flows with a deep understanding of all protocol layers and proactively promote technology ideas that can add value, reduce costs or optimize performance & customer experience to each of TD's core businesses.

This role is a critical entry point to the Network Engineering Organization interacting with multiple lines of Business, peer Infrastructure teams, Application Development, Vendors and Service Providers.

Job Requirements include:

Experience in Complex WEB Application Architectures
Experience with AND solutions in Highly Virtualized Environments
Experience in providing guidance and technical solutions from existing product & design catalogue or gather requirements to drive new solutions
Experience in creating high level and technical presentations and communication skills to explain the approach to a varying audience
Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Proven ability to collaborate across a large organization to effectively realize outcomes
Experience with regulatory / compliance requirements
History of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term

Provide support to internal customers through innovative solutions creating sustainable and maintainable environments.
Ability to make engineering design decisions, solves technical problems, and makes improvements to our systems.
