Senior Manager, HR Strategy & Optimization

As the Senior Manager, HR Strategy & Optimization reporting to the Director, HR Strategy & Optimization, you will focus on the development and management of RBC's People & Culture Strategy and narrative to enhance the performance, engagement and outcomes across our global HR function.

The HR Strategy & Optimization team is a part of the broader HR Effectiveness team which includes HR Business Management and HR Engagement & Enablement. As a collective team, HR Effectiveness drives the strategic direction, effective communications, capability development, and safety and soundness of the HR function to focus on what matters most. Together, we inspire and enable One HR to maximize the potential of RBC employees.

Help build and drive RBC's People & Culture Strategy and Narrative
  • Support the development and delivery of the RBC's Enterprise People & Culture Strategy and narrative
  • Ongoing planning, content development & socialization of People & Culture Strategy, narrative and message map to amplify strategic messages and ensure all HR leaders and employees are able to engage and stay connected with the P&C Strategy throughout the year
  • Ensure integration and alignment of the P&C narrative with other initiatives, and engagement and communication channels and tactics (includes HR communications & event management support as needed)
  • Help plan and execute HR Executive Roundtables on a quarterly basis to drive cross-functional engagement, alignment and strategic dialogue amongst HR Executives
  • Strategic integration of the P&C Strategy for all senior HR leaders and integration with programs and initiatives tied to how we are reimaging HR's evolution and transformation
  • Support annual HR planning and prioritization to align on fiscal priorities and outcomes
  • Deliver and oversee the supporting tools and resources to enable strategic planning and monitoring

  • Strengthen HR Partnerships and Support HR Engagement & Enablement
  • Identify and drive opportunities to optimize how we collaborate and operate as "One HR"
  • Work collaboratively with partners to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the HR function
  • Manage ongoing partnership routines with HR and Enterprise partners
  • Help navigate and strengthen relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders to generate cross-functional engagement, influence and alignment
  • Support to the HR Effectiveness team as needed to enable collective success of team goals and outcomes

  • Provide Advisory & Thought Leadership
  • Look at internal and external trends, insights and leading practices to inform opportunities and solutions
  • Analyze, build, synthesize and lead recommendations to an actionable level of detail and test recommendation for fit and alignment with overall HR vision and strategy
  • Provide advisory, thought leadership, and best practices within the HR function


    Must have:
  • University degree or related business experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in a large matrixed environment
  • Proven track record of demonstrated achievement, expertise and client-focused delivery
  • Strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills (oral and written) with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely to senior audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and consulting advisory capability
  • Ability to constructively challenge while building / maintaining strong relationships
  • Comfortable and able to navigate and adapt through ambiguity, complexity and continuous change
  • Ability to understand organizational issues and challenges and influence stakeholders
  • Strong team player, highly collaborative, acts as one team and speaks up for the good of RBC
