The team:

The Retail Data Office, forms part of Customer Insights & Analytics (CIDA) at Scotiabank and is responsible for delivering on Data Management activities.

The role:

As integral part of the team, the Senior Manager, Delivery will contribute to the overall success of the Retail Data Office by acting as a delivery lead for supporting business lines as they implement the Bank's Data Strategy.

Is this role right for you?

  • You will act as the point person to business area stakeholders and act as a delivery lead to ensure the assigned initiative deliverables are accomplished from end-to-end perspective (incl. Data Intake, Data Management, Platform onboarding)
  • You have experience working in data management and will be responsible for determining the data management activities, artifacts and milestones required by the project initiative team (e.g., documenting initiatives, use cases, success criteria, business purpose, tiering)
  • You enjoy developing roadmaps and data management strategies to ensure successful implementation of use cases
  • You can host and conduct kick-off meetings with at least a high-level view of the following from the business partners: milestones, high-level target architecture, RACI, workflow, communication norms, and team norms
  • You have a passion and proven track record for establishing and communicating with stakeholders and Director/VP level managers to effectively influence strategic priorities
  • You enjoy training stakeholders on how on data management processes and how to use Data Management tools (Collibra) and produce data management artifacts
  • You have experience implementing project level reporting for initiatives/projects; includes tracking, status reporting, executive dashboards etc.
  • You are team oriented and can work with colleagues to develop risk mitigated strategies to ensure successful implementation of projects and initiatives. Escalates blockers and issues to Data Office leadership for resolution
  • You can provide consultative support to business lines and project teams on the execution of data management policy, standards, processes, and implementation as appropriate
  • You enjoy working in an environment of significant transformation & change while maintaining a high level of engagement & focus; You are not afraid to be hands on in tools
  • You can champion a data driven & customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
  • Informs & contributes to initiative resourcing estimates for the retail banking data office and business project team (e.g., technical SMEs (subject matter experts), etc.)
  • You are passionate about championing a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You have 5+ years of experience in leading project delivery in data focused environments; project management training or experience an asset
  • You are a strong communicator (verbally and written - PowerPoint) and have experience in stakeholder management
  • You have experience and working knowledge of data management/governance concepts, and data management tools and catalogs (e.g., Collibra, JIRA, Confluence) and comfortable training stakeholders on how to complete data management activities
  • You have a proven ability to work well with business partners at various levels within the organization and to learn business processes quickly
  • You have the willingness to learn and understand usage and implementation of new tools when required
  • You have completed a degree or certificate in a Technical or Business discipline
