Join TELUS Health's Primary Care team which focuses on supporting all of TELUS's avenues in the Healthcare and Medical sector, from General Practitioners to Specialists and be a force for good by helping ensure that our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms are up-to-date and state of the art.

Our team delivers powerful tools to healthcare providers across the country to enable them to provide better care for their patients. As a Senior IT Architect, you'd play a key role in designing large-scale systems, helping provide these tools to our customers.

The IT Architecture team are experts in technical design with a wealth of experience to draw upon. Learn from the team and put your own experience to work and help us produce a reliable, scalable and maintainable platform for our next generation of Electronic Medical Records systems. You will research, analyze, design, propose and deliver a national-scale solution architecture based on the strategic needs of the business.

The Architect will partner with both technical and product teams to deliver high quality scalable, extensible, secure solutions that meet the needs of our growing business as we look to evolve our EMR solutions. You should be conversant in current industry architectural standards and standard methodologies and able to drive technical/architectural vision.


Here's how
    •You'll own the design of a national-scale Healthcare IT system to support Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems •You will be the go-to technical resource for our planning, project, and business development teams •You'll evaluate and source off-the-shelf software solutions •You'll develop transition strategies to support migration from legacy platforms •You'll collaborate with the infrastructure delivery teams (private and public cloud and legacy internal data center) to provide hosting infrastructure •You'll Identify areas of opportunity for technology evolution from industry advancements and trends



Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •You are known for your experience working with or designing Healthcare data transfer standards •You are recognized for your hands-on experience with the full lifecycle of micro services-based architectures and their design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance •You are sought out for your deep familiarity with public cloud platform technology offerings and your previous implementation of systems using these technologies •You are the go-to-person for your experience using containerization technology when it comes to encapsulating and delivering large, complex software systems •You have a track record of demonstrated deep knowledge of security concepts and technologies for authentication, encryption, authorization as well as healthcare privacy and data security issues, including legislation •You are commended for your clear and precise oral and written communication skills and are comfortable delivering presentations to small and large groups, including executive level management, internally and externally at appropriate levels of technical detail for the audience

Great-to-haves
    •Certification from a post-secondary institution with a Degree specializing in Software engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or any related development field •10+ years hands-on working experience on software development projects •Fluency in speaking, reading, writing English and French would be an asset •Working experience in a modern SLDC method (test-driven development (TDD), Agile, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)) •Previous experience in technical leadership roles
