In Ottawa, you will be a member of our Public Sector team, working with one of the largest and most important client sectors for KPMG. We serve all three levels of government and focus on every major policy sector including defence and security, education, social and human services, transportation and regulation.

KPMG Ottawa is currently looking for a Senior Consultant to bring Organizational Design skills and experience as well as a broader consulting skill set, e.g. change management, Future of Work, organizational effectiveness, talent management, and a willingness and capability to work across a variety of services.

What you will do

  • Understand client issues, disaggregate business problems, develop hypotheses, conduct primary and secondary research and analysis, and develop valuable recommendations
  • Lead with honesty, authenticity, and integrity in ambiguous situations that are challenging and interesting
  • Rapidly become knowledgeable on the business concepts and issues which drive the client's needs;
  • Analyze client data in order to advise clients on insights and business opportunities based on evidence;
  • Work collaboratively with client teams and help develop client capabilities;
  • Contribute to all aspects of building a practice (e.g., business development, team culture, community engagement, etc.
  • Seek to create an enviroment for clients and colleagues that is diverse, inclusive and innovative

What you bring to the role

  • Organization design, assessment of organizational models and job roles, organizational restructuring, classification and/or process improvement experience
  • Public Sector experience, either working directly in Government or in a professional services firm supporting Public Sector clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to participate in presentations to all levels of organizations, both in person and remotely/virtually
  • Proven relationship development and project management skills
  • Interest in people-centric technology change that connects the front, middle, and back offices
  • Capacity to participate across the full advisory consulting lifecycle including building new intellectual property and services, generating new business opportunities, managing the sales cycle, developing solid project plans / approaches, participating in / overseeing the delivery of engagements, providing feedback / guidance to team members, closing engagements according to risk guidelines
  • Strategic, operational, social, and financial analysis acumen
  • University Degree in a related discipline. This may include an undergraduate or graduate degree in Management/Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Social Sciences, Industrial Relations, Public Administration

You have experience in:
  • At least 3 years of professional experience on projects that includes one or more of the following:
  • Workforce planning
  • Job analysis and classification
  • Performance management and assessment planning
  • Change impact assessments
  • Future of Work (Hybrid Workforce/Workplace)
  • Change Management, Training, and Communication
  • Culture and Employee Experience (Recruiting, Retention, Rewards and Recognition)
  • Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, Anti-Racism, and Belonging
