At KPMG, you'll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

Are you a talented individual with a proven track record on executing project deliverables.

Our Technology Risk Services team is growing and we are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Digital Asset Center of Excellence (CoE) team in Toronto. The Technology Risk Services practice provides a variety of services to our clients. The successful candidate will focus primarily on Digital Asset advisory engagements across digital asset custody & trading, stablecoins, tokenization, staking, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and other verticals ("Digital Asset Verticals"). Senior Consultants will also be involved in supporting business development efforts, training and guiding our new campus hires.

What you will do
  • Advise clients in various Digital Asset Verticals on the technological, operational and risk management components of engagements spanning strategy development, governance, framework development, control testing, process design and implementation, operating model development, on-chain investigations, due diligence and more.
  • Within each engagement, you will be responsible for identifying requirements, conducting assessments, reviewing complex and highly technical documentation, evaluating risks, communicating with client management and writing professional reports.
  • Utilize AI tools in client engagement delivery, business development and internal CoE initiatives.
  • Simultaneously deliver multiple client engagements of varying size, scope and complexity.
  • Leading field engagement teams as well as coaching and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Be responsible for delivering high quality work, with a focus on attention to detail and support in engagement planning, budgeting and on-going profitability monitoring.
  • Business development: taking an active role internally and in the Digital Asset community to increase awareness of the CoE's services and level of commitment to the local market, developing and maturing relationships with internal staff and clients, developing proposals, identifying and pursuing opportunities to increase the practice's penetration in the public and private sector.
What you bring to the role
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a Digital Asset Vertical. Consulting experience in executing client engagements in the Digital Asset space is preferred.
  • Very strong understanding of (i) various Digital Asset Verticals and key institutions and incumbents in each vertical and (ii) Canadian and global Digital Asset Regulations.
  • Strong understanding of the technology and operational risks with Digital Asset custody and different types of custody models.
  • Experience using AI tools to automate tasks such as research, evidence review, report writing and collateral development.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance or Engineering.
  • Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively express insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of business and audit risks.
  • Have a high degree of personal confidence, enthusiasm and drive. Willingness and ability to travel both within Canada and internationally.
