What you can expect to do here:
- Lead municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including conveyance systems such as gravity sewers, watermains, forcemains, and pump stations, ensuring compliance with client needs and regulatory standards.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, technically robust municipal solutions, from concept through construction.
- Drive project success by overseeing design deliverables, budgets, schedules, and quality assurance processes.
- Provide expert guidance during construction, including resolving technical queries and reviewing shop drawings.
- Champion risk management and constructability strategies, focusing on site-specific and infrastructure-wide challenges.
- Mentor and inspire junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Build strong client relationships and support business growth through proposal development and innovative service offerings.
- Provide construction support services, including design clarifications, shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, site visits, and client meetings.
- Take technical and time management responsibility for tasks and delegate effectively to junior staff.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's degree an asset), with P.Eng. licensure in Ontario.
- 8 -15 years of progressive experience in the design and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including conveyance facilities such as pump stations.
- Expertise in conceptual and detailed design of linear municipal infrastructure, including gravity sewers, watermains, forcemains, and associated site works.
- Strong command of construction methods, sequencing, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ontario and Canadian municipal/provincial design standards, regulatory requirements, and approval processes.
- Proven ability to manage projects from planning through construction completion-delivering quality results on time and within budget.
- Recognized for technical leadership, collaboration, and innovation in municipal and infrastructure solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding multidisciplinary teams and managing stakeholder expectations to ensure project success.
- Exceptional mentoring abilities-skilled at inspiring, coaching, and fostering the growth of engineering professionals.
- Outstanding communicator with a proven track record in technical report writing, client presentations, and facilitating clear collaboration across project teams.
- Strategic business development mindset, adept at preparing winning proposals and pursuing innovative opportunities for growth.
